Do you have any plans to record and release your new material?
James: Yes. At present it is a matter of money and time - we want to get some more cash behind us so we can make a decent record and we want to play a few more shows to generate a bigger fan base so people here actually know about us and want to buy the music!
What’s been the highlight so far?
James: No standout moments just yet - it has all been pretty fantastic - although our first London show at the Bull and Gate in Kentish town was great as you realise how many people you actually know and they all turned up to support us - it was quite a humbling experience! Cheers everyone :)
What’s going on for Agent in 2009?
James: Gigs, recording, and selling our souls for a record deal.
Where do you get your inspiration?
James: Life mainly. Experiences and thoughts you've had, situations around the world. Anything that winds you up or makes you happy. Our subject matter varies from personal experiences to lyrics made up about hypothetical situations. Musically we have all been mainly rock/metal orientated since when we started listening to music however we all listen to other genres as well and have definitely been inspired by musicians from outside the genre we play in. Inspiration is everywhere and if you can translate it into a piece of music or lyric then you are definitely on the right track.
What’s your dream collaboration?
James: I would love to write a really quirky tune with Daron Malakian. I would also like to have a remix of one of our songs done by Concord Dawn (NZ) or Stanton Warriors. And just for thought an Agent V Scissor Sisters collaboration - what would that sound like? :)
And with that strange thought in mind… We really do recommend that you have a listen to these excellent antipodean metal masters as soon as you can. You can do that by visiting their MySpace page or if you’re lucky enough, catch them live and get the true Agent experience. They really have blown us away!
