How did you meet and go on to form the band?
Josh: I've known Ben our bass player since being 7 awww yes its true love ha ha ha. At around 16 we were put in contact with Kane through his old high school music teacher and we started out as all bands do practicing in his basement ha ha ha......
Kane: We later met Rob our singer through a friend of a friend and were quite keen to get him on board and convert him from his solo acoustic career to the dark side mwah ha ha ha.
What's been the highlight so far?
Kane: Erm.... managing to survive the poverty stricken times trying to raise the cash for the recording and getting the CD's printed and then being approached for the two upcoming gigs
Josh: Managing to withstand Kane..... Jokes
Where do you get your inspiration?
Josh: We are studying contemporary composition at uni and that has influenced are style quite a bit, we will surely be getting more ambient and experimental with song writing styles. And we enjoy messing around with time signatures quite a lot.
Kane: Live shows, other artists/bands, food, drink, rehearsals, films everything really
What's your dream collaboration?
Josh: Anola Gray and Oceansize... bring it on!
You obviously put a lot into your live shows. What kind of reaction do you usually get?
Kane: Ha ha ha totally depends on the venue to be honest. We have played some dives before where you can’t wait to get the hell out of there at the end. But on the up we have played to some great crowds at places like the Vine, Trash etc where there has been a really good atmosphere and people seem to enjoy themselves.
You've got a couple of massive gigs coming up with the Twang and Pure Reason Revolution. How are you feeling about these?
Josh: Excited
Kane: Really looking forward to it! Lets keep it coming ha ha
Josh: Pure Reason Revolution are one of my favourite bands, so to support them is incredible. And we have also been told by The Derby Academy it’s sold out for The Twang so that will be epic!
Cheers guys. If you weren’t lucky enough to get a ticket for their Academy gig with the Twang you can catch them at The Cockpit in Leeds with Pure Reason Revolution on March 12th. You can check out Anola Gray at www.myspace.com/anolagray where you can also buy their eponymous debut EP.
