Switzerland has never been too important for us. We wanna get out there and play Europe, the USA and Asia.
Is it an easy place to play?
Dan: Switzerland is an easy place to play. If you're any good in what you're doing as a band you will find venues that let you play. And mostly Swiss venues also pay good fees. We're spoiled when it comes to that. Maybe this is one of the reasons why not many Swiss bands are really seriously working to get out into the world.
You are touring in the UK in August. What are you looking forward to the most?
Dan: Playing great shows. We love playing live. We always have such a good time on stage. And of course meeting new cool people. That's one of the best things about touring. All these crazy, nice and weird people you meet while on the road.
What’s been the highlight so far?
Dan: Well, it's too many to count. Everything has developed so fast since we released our debut album in March 2008. Some highlights among others:
What music are you listening to at the moment?
Dan: Phoenix - Wolfgang, Amadeus Phoenix, Metric – Fantasies, Mando Diao - Gimme Fire, MGMT - Oracular Spectacular, The Beatles - especially the early years, Black Lips - 200 Million Thousand, Division of Laura Lee.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Dan: Everywhere, it can be music, movies, news, a word someone says or a picture I see. Most of the songs I write start with either a chord progression or some word or a sentence that suddenly pops up and sticks to me.
