Already wowing audiences on both sides of the Atlantic, Club Le Shark are a band on the rise with their high octane rock n roll dripping with sweat and attitude.  We caught up with the hard working sleaze rockers and asked them about the world according to Club Le Shark.

How did you meet and form the band:

Lexx: Me and Gash met in college and decided to form an all out in-your-face rock’n’roll band as all our mates were ALL doing indie or electro and we wanted to do something different with a lot more attitude.  Whilst at college we wrote some tunes and laid the foundations for the band.

Gash:  We were all on the same scene and basically stole the strongest members from our mate’s bands.  We thought Dee was the coolest bassist so got him to join.

Lexx: And previous to that, Sam joined the band as he was the best lead guitarist in Bournemouth who actually liked

partying and being decadent as most other guitarists around here enjoy Warhammer and wear glasses and have no style which makes me sick.  That’s when the band really started to take shape.

You’ve just released a new EP.  What’s the reaction been like so far?

Lexx: Initial reactions have been phenomenal.

Dee: Yea they’ve been really exciting so far.

Lexx: Everyone who has listened to it from the music industry has been really impressed.  We put everything into this EP, carving it to perfection.  It’s currently being played on many radio stations across the world, especially in the USA where we’ve built up a strong following. I feel that that’s where our principal market is.  We’ve been told it sounds like old AFI meets Black Label Society meets Alice Cooper meets Hanoi Rocks.  Its timeless music, combining the best parts of modern and classic rock.

What’s your dream collaboration?

Sam:  Mutt Lange, the best producer in the world.  And we’re all massive Queen fans so I’d say Freddie Mercury as well.

Lexx:  Playing a show with Freddie Mercury in his prime,

prancing around in front of me would be out of this world.  I simply don’t trust people who cannot appreciate him.  Those kind of people like music as it helps them be ‘trendy’ rather than genuinely loving music.

Dee: Clarence Clemons!

Lexx:  Yea that massive bad boy who’s about 12 foot tall from the E Street band.

Sam:  I wouldn’t want a sax player in our band!

Lexx:  Yea but he’s so funny it would be awesome to have that colossal rude boy, honking away.  Although I’d love to play with ‘the Boss’, the one and only original springer spaniel Bruce Springsteen.  His voice is the voice of God and

his lyrics bring me to my knees with beauty.  What a legend!

Gash: He’s the only man that would turn you gay.

Lexx: Yep.

Whats been the Club Le Shark highlight so far?

Sam: Having booked a US tour.

Gash: Yea, that was great!
