MAJOR SCALE

The Major Scale is one of the most common scales used in western music.  It is the scale that ‘Do – Ray – Me’ (and therefore the ‘Doe a Deer’ song!) refers to and is based on.

The major scale is also very important as it is used as a point of reference in standard western music theory when looking at other scales, chords and arpeggios.  The happy, upbeat feel of the major scale makes it a mainstay in pop music.
