You can vote through the big purple Music Town of the Year button on all pages of this website or by clicking here.  Cast your vote and make sure your favourite music town is in with a chance of winning this accolade.

We’ll get back to you as soon as possible and you could be seeing your words (and pictures) in Digitalgig and have them read by music fans from around the world!

CHANGES IN LICENSING TO HELP LIVE MUSIC

It seems that the many objections to ever tightening music licensing restrictions (best embodied by form 696 - see issue 1 http://www.digitalgig.co.uk/
news_issue-1.html
) might have started to have an effect.

New legislation now means that venues with a capacity of less than 100 people no longer need to have a special licence for live music. Previously everyone from restaurants with piano players to small venues with live bands needed to have a live music licence.

The change will hopefully mean that more venues will be available for more unsigned bands to play. Better exposure and more gigs for all?  We certainly hope so.

There’s been a lot going on at Digitalgig HQ since our last issue.  It’s with that in mind that quite a few of the news stories this time are about us!  We promise we’ll be talking a lot less about ourselves next issue – Honestly!
