A heavy dose of jazz grindcore from Krasnodar’s The Zverstvo, trumpets and all. ‘Spider Borama’ typifies this glorious meltdown perfectly. Songs like ‘Under the Fly’ fuse crazed jazz with an almost umpha beat to wonderfully bizarre effect. All this madness is accompanied by great screamed vocals. Summer is finally here so it’s time to throw open the windows, put on some Baraka, push back the furniture and have a dancing party! A Night at Sea blend folk with subtle electronic tones and hauntingly beautiful vocals to underpin their truly unique sound. THE AKABANE VULGARS ON STRONG BYPASS
British influenced rock with a punk edged persona from the Japanese trio the Akabane Vulgars on Strong Bypass. Their energy and style bursts out with their great track ‘Evening or Cabaret and Chain’. They keep up their fantastically raw yet melodic sound with the great ‘Whistling’. The British feel is also encapsulated by the bulldogs on their MySpace page. JA JA WUNDERBAR
A fine dose of infectious tunes designed to put a smile firmly on your face. Ja Ja Wunderbar mix upbeat guitar with manically happy keyboards to create some great songs with lyrics firmly rooted in the mundane real world. The tracks ‘Steven and His Bicycle’ and ‘Apart from Tony’ deliver hooks which drag you in and make you groove along. A fine and sunny MySpace page completes the package.
